Celebrating our 36th Year!
Any group of students, ages 6-18 years as of September 1st of that year, may participate in Young Inventors Showcase. We accept applications from school districts, individual schools, individual classrooms or after school clubs. We also allow home schoolers to organize themselves into groups of at least 20 students. If in doubt, contact us with additional approval.
The Young Inventors of America event year begins on September 1st of each year. All who would like to participate should begin submitting their district, school or organization for enrollment. It is the responsibility of each of the groups to schedule their local events leading up to their winners moving on to the Spring finals in Houston.
Enrolling to be a part of the Young Inventors Showcase is very easy. Simply email us with your intent and a brief description of your organization. Include a phone contact and we will do the rest.
It is important that the facilitator and student all read and understand the information outlined in the Invention Process Guide. The is the heart of The Young Inventors Showcase.
The minimum number of students for a group should be no less than (10). The Young Inventors Association of America allows (1) student for every (10) contestants to move on to the spring finals. For school districts, the total number to move on to the finals is (10). It will be up to those districts to determine how that number is achieved.
As we were forced to do during the COVID lock down, we allow finalist to participate in the Young Inventors Showcase via YouTube uploads. We will coordinate with those who select this method on a per group basis.
There's (3) components to a student's Young Inventors Showcase display; a standard 36" X 48" Tri-Fold Self-Standing Project Display Board, an Inventors Log and the Conceptual Model. How these items are constructed are found in the Young Inventors Invention Process Guide.
